For My Mummy, Who Is Just Like the Wind
You are like the wind, a soft breeze on summer nights,
Lifting me gently through life’s daily fights.
You are the breath that restores me from despair,
A hearth in the winter, warm, comforting, and rare.
Today I missed you, feeling the space between,
Yet like the wind, your presence remains unseen.
Though distance frightens me, you carry me through,
Proving that no far-off place can keep me from you.
You are like the winter sky, open and bright,
Making way for the sun to fill us with light.
Unchanging and constant, steady and true,
A shelter for every flower, and for me, too.
Most of all, Mummy, you are like the wind—
Gentle when needed, strong when intended,
Blowing through time, boundless and free,
A comfort beside me, wherever I may be.
